1. Who We Are
AvenoirCare is a health and wellness information website run by a qualified medical professional. Everything published here is written or reviewed by a doctor before it goes live. Our audience is global — anyone looking for reliable, evidence-based health information.

2. What Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Give Us
- Contact form: When you write to us, we collect your name, email address, and whatever you put in the message.
- Contributor registration: Doctors applying to write for AvenoirCare provide their name, email, qualifications, medical registration number, and a professional biography. This is necessary to verify credentials before anything gets published.
- Account login: For contributor accounts, we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Log data: When you visit the site, our servers automatically record your IP address, browser type, operating system, which pages you visited, where you came from, and when.
- Cookies: More on this in Section 4.
- Device information: Basic things like screen size and browser version, used only to make sure the site displays correctly for you.
We do not collect health records, financial details, or government ID numbers from general visitors. That kind of data has no place here.
3. What We Do With Your Information
We use the information we collect to run the website properly and serve readers well. Specifically:
- To keep AvenoirCare working, improve it, and fix things when they break
- To reply to messages and support requests
- To review applications from doctors who want to contribute
- To understand how the site is being used, through anonymised Google Analytics data
- To protect the website and its users from abuse and fraud
- To meet any legal obligations that apply to us
We do not sell your data. We do not rent it. We do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes. That is not something we will ever do.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small files that get placed on your device when you visit a website. They do useful things — like keeping you logged in — but they also raise legitimate privacy questions. Here is exactly what we use and why.
4.1 Essential Cookies
These are the ones the site cannot function without. They handle things like login sessions and basic security. You cannot turn these off without breaking parts of the site — but they do not track you or collect data for any external party.
4.2 Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand which articles people find useful and how they navigate the site. The data this collects is anonymised and aggregated — we see patterns, not individuals. If you would rather opt out entirely, the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on will do that for you.
4.3 Controlling Cookies
Your browser lets you manage, block, or delete cookies at any time. Blocking certain cookies may mean some features of the site stop working as expected. If you want step-by-step guidance, allaboutcookies.org is a good place to start.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
Running a website means relying on a small number of third-party services. We only share data where it is genuinely necessary:
- Hostinger (hosting): Our site runs on Hostinger's servers. They process server log data as part of providing that service — that is standard for any web host.
- Google Analytics: Anonymised, aggregated usage data is processed by Google. Their own privacy policy governs how they handle it.
- Legal requirements: If a law or court order requires us to disclose data, we will comply — but we will not do so voluntarily or silently.
- Safety: In rare situations where disclosing information is necessary to protect someone's safety or prevent fraud, we may do so.
We are not connected to any advertising networks right now. Your data is not being used to target ads at you.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
We do not hold onto data longer than we need to. Here is how long different types of information are kept:
- Contact form messages: Up to 2 years.
- Contributor account data: For as long as the contributor relationship is active, plus 12 months after it ends.
- Analytics data: Up to 26 months, per Google Analytics default settings.
- Server logs: Up to 12 months, for security and diagnostic purposes.
7. How We Protect Your Data
We take security seriously. The site uses HTTPS encryption, passwords are hashed rather than stored in plain text, and access to personal data is restricted to the people who genuinely need it. That said, no system connected to the internet is completely immune to risk. We take every reasonable precaution — but it would not be honest to promise absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on the laws where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it, restrict how it is used, or request a copy of it. You may also have the right to object to certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@avenoircare.com. We will get back to you within 30 days.
9. Children
AvenoirCare is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think we have accidentally collected information from a child, please contact us straight away. We will delete it without delay.
10. Links to Other Websites
Some of our articles link out to medical journals, health organisations, and other external sources. Once you leave AvenoirCare, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We have no control over what external sites do with your data, so it is worth checking their own privacy policies before submitting anything to them.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will appear here with a new date at the top. Carrying on using the site after an update means you are comfortable with what has changed. If something significant shifts, we will make it easy to spot.
